Biography: Officer Dakin graduated from Searsport High School in 1971. He joined the United States Airforce becoming a military police officer. He served eight years in the Air Force in various locations to include Texas, New Jersey, New York, Colorado and Turkey. During this time, he married his wife Brenda and the couple had a daughter and a son. After leaving the Air Force in 1979, Officer Dakin joined the Searsport Police Department. He attended the 45th Municipal Basic Police School at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. He joined the Belfast Police Department in 1989 and currently serves as a senior patrolman. His greatest joy is life with his family. He and Brenda spend alot of quality time with their two grandaughters. He and Brenda also enjoy traveling on their Honda Goldwing. Officer Dakin wishes to thank the citizens of Belfast for their continued support of the Belfast Police Department.
