General |
| | How long will it take the police to arrive? |
| | All calls for the Belfast Police Department are received through the Waldo Regional Communications Center. Every call is prioritized and handled according to the seriousness of the incident and location. The communications officers may not be able to provide you with a response time as many calls may be received at one time and officers may be diverted to a more serious incident. To improve response time to your call, be sure to give as much detailed information as possible to the communications officer. |
| | What number should I call? |
| | In case of an EMERGENCY dial 911
Non-emergency calls, to report an incident or speak to an officer call 338-2420 |
| | How do I find out if School has been cancelled? |
| | Please do not call the police department to find out if school has been cancelled. The school district will notify the television and radio stations should school be cancelled or delayed. These are your best sources for this information. If conditions are bad enough to cancel school, our communications officers would be very busy with emergency calls such as traffic crashes and vehicles off the roadway. By calling for updates on school cancellations, you may delay us from helping someone with an emergency. |
